(눅 8:49) 아직 말씀하실 때에 회당장의 집에서 사람이 와서 말하되 당신의 딸이 죽었나이다 선생을 더 괴롭게 마소서 하거늘

(눅 8:50) 예수께서 들으시고 가라사대 두려워 말고 믿기만 하라 그리하면 딸이 구원을 얻으리라 하시고

(눅 8:51) 집에 이르러 베드로와 요한과 야고보와 및 아이의 부모 외에는 함께 들어가기를 허하지 아니하시니라

(눅 8:52) 모든 사람이 아이를 위하여 울며 통곡하매 예수께서 이르시되 울지 말라 죽은 것이 아니라 잔다 하시니

(눅 8:53) 저희가 그 죽은 것을 아는 고로 비웃더라

(눅 8:54) 예수께서 아이의 손을 잡고 불러 가라사대 아이야 일어나라 하시니

(눅 8:55) 그 영이 돌아와 아이가 곧 일어나거늘 예수께서 먹을 것을 주라 명하신대

(눅 8:56) 그 부모가 놀라는지라 예수께서 경계하사 이 일을 아무에게도 말하지 말라 하시니라

(Lk 8:49) While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," he said. "Don't bother the teacher any more."

(Lk 8:50) Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."

(Lk 8:51) When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child's father and mother.

(Lk 8:52) Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. "Stop wailing," Jesus said. "She is not dead but asleep."

(Lk 8:53) They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.

(Lk 8:54) But he took her by the hand and said, "My child, get up!"

(Lk 8:55) Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

(Lk 8:56) Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.
